Results were finally released on Friday, much to the delight and annoyance to people. Feelinga of the moment could be plotted as a chart, rising in anticipation to a crescendo, and then finally the sinking feeling.
Be it whether you have done well or not, dont dwell on it. I myself have made it a point to not to dwell on such things. You scoff, what is the guy scoring 'A's for his science saying about such stuff? Well, the fact remains that my results are not godly this time, physics only 74 while level highest was 94, chem 68 when class highest was 77, maths 72 when dhika beats me by 4 marks. It has never been godly anyway. Not the smartest around, but still smart enough to survive another day.
I am in the position to offer advice because I have more than my share of failures. I have failed so many times that you would be astonished. I am in the position to speak because you have a PSLE and O lvl score way better than mine.
That being said, I have failed so many times that I have like become immune to it. No more tears to be shed. What is another failure anyway? I have the next exam to look forward to. I never liked exams anyway. Useless stuff.
You people think that you are in worse situation than me? Worrying about your fail? Please lah, what about me? I am more stressed than anyone of you because for the previous test I have scored an A, I must maintain an A grade or even higher for this test. The chance of you passing is WAY HIGHER than me getting 90 marks for physics. I should be the one getting a nervous breakdown, not you. Yet, I am not going insane. That is because I allow myself to relax. What is the use of breaking down? Nothing to contribute to your score next time. So relax lah..you got the next test to try an improve. Singapore education system has so many tests and exams that you have lots of chance to improve and try again.
So dont worry yourself unduely or feel inferior if you have not performed to your expectations.
Of course, you must improve your studying techniques. Aim not just to memorise or to do routine, but to understand concepts and understand general techniques that will give you leverage on any problem of the same type. High scorers in Physics usually achieve this studying technique. I hate to say this, but the high score that Choo can have scored this time for physics must have been because of more effficient studying techniques. Garh, there will be next time to compete..Cant believe you have a score higher than mine..
Best Luck for your next exams.
